But just who is behind SIA?

When you choose to use SIA's services, you are really dealing with me, Meli Steinberg. So here's a little introduction...

Born in England, I spent my first 13 years there and then arrived in Switzerland, in Valais to be precise, to start with!

With a British mother and a Swiss father, I am perfectly bilingual in English and French (with some knowledge of Italian and basic German).

I graduated in modern languages in Sion (VD) before moving to the Canton of Vaud, where I worked for a while at the CFF, in particular in the passenger service, before deciding to go back to school to obtain a Diplôme Supérieur de Commerce et de Langues.

I was ready to start my professional life!

During my career, I have worked for various companies in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (between Montreux and Geneva) and in various fields, such as food processing, tourism, hydroelectricity, real estate (commercial and private rental), standardisation, humanitarian aid, and auditing.

Administrative assistance is a field that I know well and, above all, that I love! My skills have been acquired during a career spanning almost 30 years of assisting managers at all levels, up to and including senior management, and working with people from all walks of life and statuses, and include - among others:

  • managing complex agendas

  • independent drafting of correspondence and minutes

  • creating presentations, reports, proposals, prospect files, and various printed materials

  • proofreading translations and other documents

  • creating and implementing procedures

  • organising complex travel arrangements

  • minor accounting & control and invoicing work

  • coordinating, organising and managing internal and external meetings, conferences and events

  • coordinating technical teams at meetings

... and much more!

Outside of my professional life, I founded in 2013 a non-profit association that supports women in need, including through a large annual event that brings together between two and four thousand people for a festive day with concerts, booths, refreshment stands, and food trucks, as well as a large motorbike parade through the city of Geneva, the proceeds of which are used to support other organizations working directly with those concerned.

You can find more details directly on my LinkedIn page!

I am positive and optimistic by nature, with a great ability to adapt. Loyal, precise, and rigorous, I dislike half-hearted work and my clients' satisfaction is my priority.

Contact me to find out more about what I can do for you as your independent assistant!
